Mat Wilson

I came into this world in 1985.  I started playing guitar at 8 years old.  By the time I was 15, I started pulling frets and learning the world of stringed instrument repair.  I apprenticed for a few years and eventually went to a guitar building school in Atlanta, GA and became a certified Luthier.  In Atlanta I lived with and worked for blues guitarist Sean Costello, as a guitar tech and road manager.  Through Sean, I had a chance to tech for Hubert Sumlin (unmistakable guitarist for Howlin' Wolf), and did countless repairs for musicians around Atlanta.  I had been playing in a punk rock band for a few of my younger years, and quickly found blues to be the struggle music of choice.  After I honed my fingerstyle playing, and moved back to St Louis, I started a group called the Rum Drum Ramblers.  Known for gigging on the street and in clubs all over town, we play a mix of pre-war and post-war style blues, and record all originals.
